Bryan, an ordained priest in the Church of England grew up in London and became a Christian as a teenager through a Bible Class. Before ordination training and working as a priest in the Willesden Area of London Diocese for 10 years he had trained and worked as a social worker in Child Care.

He first went to Kenya in 2001 with his wife Liz, through the Church Mission Society to St Andrew’s Anglican Theological College Kabare where he taught a variety of subjects. He now works part-time as an assistant priest in West London (Willesden Episcopal Area).

Editor of Bulletin

David first visited Africa as a medical student in 1963, and worked for many years in a multiracial area of London as a consultant physician. With his wife, Wendy, he took the opportunity to visit Kenya for the first time in 1998; they have returned several times since. They live in the Diocese of Chelmsford, and for 20 years David edited the parish magazine of their church. He became editor of the KCA Bulletin in 2005.

Committee Member

Wendy is a nurse who first visited Kenya in 1998 to spend time with Revd Pam Wilding, a CMS mission partner at St Andrew’s Theological College, Kabare. The visit was inspired by the partnership of Chelmsford Diocese with the four dioceses of Kirinyaga, Embu, Mbeere and Meru. After a Diocesan visit in 2000 Wendy was asked to facilitate a committee to revitalise the link, and in 2004 all four Kenyan Bishops and the new Bishop of Chelmsford signed an agreement on how the link would work. Wendy also acts as Commissary to the Bishop of Mbeere. On our visits we have formed many friendships; and our own spiritual journeys have been invigorated by those contacts. Now retired from the NHS, we hope to strengthen our diocesan partnership, which in 2008 celebrates thirty years of existence.

Committee Member

Liz who has an MA in Psychology of Religion became a Christian at University while studying Zoology. She initially trained as a social worker and then as a family therapist. She has spent all her working life with families and children.

She first went to Kenya in 2001 with her husband Bryan with Church Mission Society, to St. Andrew’s Anglican Theological College, Kabare, where she taught Pastoral Care and Counselling and English. Since then they have been back to Kenya several times and stay in touch with their large network of friends.
